The most complete edition of Dickens' letters (1324 herein, with many now first published). Of particular note, the editors identified 6 forgeries, previously thought legitimate, with all appearing to be by the 'South Coast Forger'. [preface, p. ix].
Dickens main work published during this period was Little Dorrit, however, it was also during this period that Dickens separated from his wife of many years, Catherine & gave the 1st of what was to be a profitable, albeit consuming, activity, his dramatic readings.
