Item 121 offers, at £200, a significant, and early [ca 1837], letter from Dickens to the editor of the Brighton Guardian, addressing, in the 3rd person, some percieved liberties in Bentley's Miscellany publishing of a piece entitled "Smoke".
The firm's letter to Comte de Suzanette thanks him for the purchase of a Kipling item, and respectfully declines the Comte's offer of £180 for the Dickens letter [cf Pilgrim Edition of Dickens Letters, v1, p. 311].
