New York & Washington: M. B. Brady, (1868). SIGNED by Clisbee, under the image. Brady's imprint in bottom of mount margin. Recto blank. Mount with faint image of a Capitol building at top. Mount: 13" x 8-7/8". Photograph: 8-1/4" x 7-3/16". Now housed in a clear archival mylar sleeve. Photograph with a bit of the usual yellowing, though image detail remains clear & sharp. Modest age-toning to mount. A VG+ item. Item #51957

Originally from Ohio, Clisbee relocated to Michigan and became a prominent Michigan politician in the latter half of the 19th C., serving in such roles as Reading Clerk of the House of Representatives of the Fortieth Congress. Further, he was active civicly, e.g., he served the local public schools either as Trustee or as a school officer and was instrumental in organizing the First National Bank of Cassopolis of which he became Director.
