Superb post-fire boosterism for the city. Many of the woodcuts promote the famous Palmer House, billed as the "Only fire-proof Hotel in the United States." [NB. The back side of the folding map depicts the 3rd Palmer House]. Many other interesting features of the city are highlighted herein, I especially found fascinating the full page wood engraving showing "The Large Engine at the Water Works." [p. 30].
