New Orleans: Published by J. Curtis Waldo, 61 Camp Street, 1882. 1st Printing. One sheet [38" x 24-7/8"], folded [originally] twice. Just below the masthead is printed "Published by J. CURTIS WALDO, (Established 1869), Photo-Engraver and Publisher of The Present Age, The Royal Herald, The St. Louis Commercial Age, N.O. Annual Commercial Review, Gazetteer of Great Jackson Route, Missouri Pacific Gazetteer, St. Louis Exposition Guide, Directories, etc." Just below the fold on the front page are advertisements for " Mardi Gras Amusements " and brief descriptions of the various parade floats and cars are provided along with lots of local advertising for various New Orleans businesses. 2 color illustrations of Mardi Gras parades, with one side featuring views of Mardi Gras parade floats with the first float being "Boss's Float" followed by other floats representing different holidays of the year including New Year's Day, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day and more. Leading the parade is a jester carrying a sign that reads " 5th Representation P.40.P Mardi Gras 1882 ". The margin below the color parade float views is printed " New Orleans Lithographing Co. 78 St. Charles St., N.O." The back page features a half-page color illustration of a bacchanal Mardi Gras scene. Folded: 19" x 12-1/2". Self-wrappers, now housed [folded] in a clear archival mylar wrapper. Additional prior owner fold-lines [2], with some short tears & small holes along all folds. Age-toning, edge rash. A Good copy of this rare survivor. Item #51674
