The album begins with a photographic image of a portrait of Nicholas Brown, a college alum, early benefactor & for whom the college was renamed in 1804, followed by 15 photographs of important Brown alumni & professors, including past presidents Francis Weyland & Ezekiel Robinson. Then comes 39 individual photographic portraits of the 1875 graduating class, the preponderance holographically signed underneath, followed by a group photograph & 3 more individuals. The album concludes with 27 captioned [save 2] images of divers college & town landmarks/scenes, such as the "Library Interior", "Hope College - East", "Butler's Exchange" [which was new in 1875], "Bay from University Hall" & "Labratory". Included in these 27 are 2 large class group photographs of the class of 1875; one of these group photographs is set on the steps of Rhode Island Hall, werein each class member is holding a stuffed animal, no doubt from the Taxidermy class.
A rare item, which not only visually documents this Ivy League school & the '75 class, but also the town during this year.
