Douglas a well-known late 19th century/early 20th century childrens author, who used the series format to much success [The Little Girl Series & Helen Grant are perhaps her two best known]. Her first book was published in 1866; her 1893 novel [Larry] won a prize from Youth's Companion for year's best piece of fiction for young people. She was prolific, producing at least a title a year well into the later years of her life [Mainiero]. In this ANs she talks about the history of a rush bottom chair(s) [evidently giving the background to one(s) in her possesion to a possible purchaser (?)]. Accompanied by a mid-century transciption, and a period envelope.
