One of the personal by-products of this past year's COVID-19 pandemic experience was the realization that I, after 32 years in the antiquarian book trade, no longer wish to man an open shop for 8 hours a day. Going forward, I intend to pursue a semi-retired lifestyle, and in keeping with this philosophy, have transitioned to a on-line only business model.

Portland, Me. Geo. Stinson & Co., Publishers, (n. d.). Ca mid-to-late 1870s. "Charles Dickens" imprinted under the photograph. Publisher imprint to verso: "All kinds of Engravings, Lithographs, Chromos, Photographs, &c., constantly on hand. Copies of this Photograph can be had at any time either of the agent, or the publishers." Image: 3-3/8" x 2-1/8". Mount: 3-15/16" x 2-7/16". Image slightly faded. Faint black smudge on Dickens left shoulder. Overall, Very Good. Item #49757

While the image itself of Dickens is a relatively common one, and used by many, this the first time we've had a CDV with Stinson's imprint.
