An uncommon early US edition of Dickens' autobiographical novel. As Smith notes, "the preliminary pages in all Putnam volumes examined were assembled carelessly and copies lacked certain pages and/or were not sequenced properly." He also notes under the prior entry, a 9 November Putman advert stated "Editions of the work are published with and without the illustrations." This set issued 22 November, with only the frotispieces, and [obviously] without the "List of Illustrations"
