Includes a prior owner typewritten transcription of the letter [with, regrettably, some inaccuracies, e.g., Mrs DePew called DePen]. 7-7/8" x 4-7/8". Envelope: 3" x 5-1/4". Envelope with Atlanta June 9th postmark, cancelled 3¢ red Washington stamp. Now housed in an archival mylar sleeve. Envelope with one edge removed. Letter with two horizontal fold-lines. Phillips writes McCravath a news lettering, commenting on his an "Orphans Home" proposition, calling it the "best we have had". He gives a health update on one Mrs DePew, relating she "has been more cheerful". Other such bits.
