Oakland, California: 1948. An archive of 15+ vernacular hand-inked documents of Oaks games & players, 1947 - 1950. Includes 4 page Oakland Tribune memorial publication, which duplicates the newspaper's front page for September 27th 1948 [announcing the Oaks as Champions], an interior photographic spread of the team members & last page with facsimile autographs of the team's members. Accompanied by newspaper clipping of the All-Star game at Seals Stadim. Group photograph [half-tone] of the team, captioned. Memorial publication: 11" x 8-1/2". All now housed in an archival mylar sleeve. Age-toning. Modest wear. Very Good. Item #46472
Obviously compiled by an Oaks fan, herein is documented the team's efforts during the years 1947 - 1950. The Oaks won the Pacific Coast League Championship in September 1948, and, we note, Stengel was hired by the Yankees one month later.
