New Orleans: 1866. Single leaf of lined paper, holograph manscript to recto only. 20 lines of script, ~ 140 words. Circular agent date stamp in upper right of the sheet. 9-3/4" x 7-3/4". Now housed in an archival mylar sleeve. Light age toning to paper, with 2 faint vertical fold lines. Evidence of prior mounting to verso left edge. Very Good. Item #45534

Cushing writes to the Singer Manufacturing Company about divers aspects of the local business, including the observation that "The Florence Co. have just established an Agency but as their Agent is a Negro, he will not meet with any success. The Arrivals of Cotton are large and do not indicate a short crop."
