Exposé of a variety of con tricks, hoaxes, etc., a great many of which the author attests to having fallen for, himself. As he remarks to the reader in the Writer's Note, "I am not exposing these things because I love you, or that you are my friend, for I find that the only real friend of man is the good old American dollar. And because I need this friend and lots of them, I have placed this book before you, hoping at the same time that some day you will thank me for it."

This edition scarce in the trade, and not found on OCLC [at the time of cataloguing].
