The account by Munster was originally published in parts (beginning in 1829) in the United Service Journal under the title: A Revised Journal of an Officer on the Staff of the Army. Moodie's narrative was also originally published in the same journal. Of note, prior to each volume's t.p., the publisher has an advert for this very journal, centered on a review by the Limerick Chronicle, which begins "The United Services Journal is confessedly one of the best periodicals of it kind that have ever issued from the Public Press."
