Lambarde a prominent antiquary of the era, as well as personal consultant to Elizabeth I, in the capacity of Keeper of the Records in the Tower- this first county history of his is considered "a model of arrangement and style". [DNB].
And while this work of Lambarde's is not particularly rare, it is rather uncommon to find it in such presentable condition, textually complete & with both maps present.
