In this directory, the 'Chinese Exchange' occupies pp v - x, with an additional 8 pp in Chinese prior to the main section of the directory, which demonstrates the growing influence of the burgeoning SF Chinese community. A useful primary information resource from early 20th C. California, and one, at best, infrequently offered given its scarcity. Just ask yourself- "Who saves Telephone Books?" especially when PTT instructed its clients to "Destroy Previous Issues" [see the recto of the rear wrapper] and if saved, "How many survived the Fire in 1906?" Few indeed, one suspects.
