A fairly scarce Mencken title in first edition- Schrader notes that the book was published 17 November 1916, yet 7 months later only 789 cc were reported as sold. Last copy to auction was 1984. Tipped-in to front paste down, on card stock, is the following: "A Book of Burlesques [underscore] / To Frank Curtin [under score] / with the [indecipherable word] /of the humble / servant of God, / 1921 HLMencken [underscore]"
