Not in the Osborne Catalogue, Gumuchian, nor the Spencer Catalogue. 16 pp. T.p. vignette. Alphabet pp. 4 - 16, two per page, each letter illustrated with a cut [for 26 total]. Cuts by Anderson [attribution per Rosenbach]. 16mo. 3-7/8" x 3-3/16". Period stiff grey card-stock wraps, sewn. Wraps with two wood-cuts each. Average wear. Some soiling to covers. A solid VG copy. "Contains alphabets in hornbook form, a syllabary, with woodcuts illustrating objects in alphabetical order." [Rosenbach]. This work has the distinction of being the first publication issued by Wood, who would go on to a distinguished career in the publishing trade, with thousands of titles under his imprint. Cf.
