Tavistock Books

 specializes in first editions, fine rare books and other related bibliographic material, with a special focus on Charles Dickens. The firm is located at 1503 Webster Street (cross street is Santa Clara) in Alameda, California, which is in the East Bay of the greater San Francisco metropolitan area. Approximately 15,000 titles are in stock, which may be viewed by appointment or by chance. We are 5 minutes from the Oakland 12th Street BART station; bus line #51 stops right across the street from the shop. Personal transportation from the BART stop is also available (by prior arrangement) for those desiring to view the stock. New books arrive daily, please check with us should you not find the title you seek. Book searches are available for first editions in the subject areas you see represented here.
