Father Antonio Pagani, the Order of Friars Minor is the founder of the Sisters Dimesse. Born in Venice, he graduated in civil law at Padua and joined the Franciscan Order in 1557. Bishop Matteo Priuli tasked Father Pagani with the reorganization of the diocese of Vicenza. In this city in 1579, Father Pagani founded the Company Dimesse or "Society of Our Lady ", creating a new form of life, bringing together the contemplative dimension in self and community, which was open to apostolic work as well. The "Company Dimesse" soon spread throughout the Republic of Venice: Murano, Bergamo, Verona, Thiene, Schio, Feltre, Padua and Udine. More recently, Dimesse is dedicated to education of girls by the opening of private schools, licensed by the government in 1842. [Wiki]. OCLC locates one copy [KS].
